Sadly, I have some tragic news regarding our Loli girl. My wife Andrea and I were actually away for our Wedding on the 22nd and 23rd of August in Falmouth, MA (Cape Cod). We left Lola and Roxy with who we thought were responsible "family friends". We were told that on Saturday the 23rd, during our Wedding reception, Lola was let out to go the bathroom. She was unleashed, no collar, etc. and she got out of the yard. Lola was missing (but seen about 15 times) for 10 days. On the 10th day, Labor Day, I got a call from a friend who is a dispatcher for the Attleboro Police Department. They needed me to ID a Boxer up on the highway, (Rt 95 in Attleboro). After a 10 minute drive that felt like 10 hours, I discovered the sick feeling in my stomach was there for a reason. It was our Lola baby on the highway, but she was gone. She was struck by a car. Lola was the perfect pup. So sweet and so young. Lola was only 2 years old, just a baby. Andrea and I along with my parents had planned on breeding Lola and Bruschi (who were boyfriend and girlfriend) after our wedding.
The incident is unfortunate and obviously unintentional, However, it definitely could have been avoided.
There will be many, many more photos of Lola posted after all of this somehow heals.
About Lola; 08/17/06- 09/01/08
Lola was 8 months old and about 35 lbs when we got her from a local pet store (The Dog House; North Attleboro, MA). The same store we got Bruschi from. She appeared to have been physically abused and she was recovering from a broken leg which the pet store said "was caused by a bigger dog falling on her leg". She was very skittish, an is very affraid of people , especially men wearing hats. She has since calmed down alot, especially as she gets more comfortable with our close friends.
We were looking for a female boxer pup, what we had in mind was a dog significantly younger, however my brother found her and convinced us to go see her. The employees at the pet store also admitted they were close to sending Lola home to a family with "questionable character" . Needless to say we left with her and we couldn 't be happier. She is the perfect pup, a bit spoiled now but the perfect puppy. She is now 2 years old and she is about 60 lbs now.
