On July 15, 2009, ArmChair Quarterback Authentics held a public autograph signing with former MLB star BILL ALMON at the American Legion Post 217, Plainville, MA.
Almon played for 7 teams over 15 MLB seasons and was taken #1 overall in the 1974 MLB draft by the San Diego Padres.
Almon led all Major League shortstops in putouts with 303 in 1977 and also led the National League in sacrifice hits with 20 that same year. Almon's best season was in the strike shortened 1981 campaign when, as an everyday shortstop for the Chicago White Sox, he hit .301 with 16 stolen bases.
Almon played collegiate baseball at Brown University.
